FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What Precautions Are You Taking Due To COVID?

Here at West Rivers we hold our customers health and safety as an utmost priority. We have been and will continue to take very precaution necessary to ensure your health and safety. We also implement social distancing of at least 6ft, employees as well, was our hands frequently, and if any of our employees are showing any signs or symptoms they will stay home, get checked, and not return to work until they have been cleared by their doctor. We also avoid touching any unnecessary surfaces.

How Do We Go About Picking Colors?

Either by going into the paint store and picking out colors, which can sometimes be a daunting task. We recommend picking up some quarts of paint once your colors are chosen and apply them to a couple sections on your home. We can help with this if needed. We have found that a lot of times picking out colors in a paint store can be difficult as the color swatches are small and sometimes hard to envision on your home. We also offer free color consultation upon request and can have a color consultant come out to your home to assist in picking our colors.

Should We Remove Patio Furniture or Anything Else up Against The House?

Yes, please remove all patio furniture and anything up against the house before we arrive for power washing. Ideally, shrubbery should be cut back at least 1 ft for our painters to adequately get behind bushes for painting siding. However, we are aware that sometimes this isn't feasible and we have equipment to tie back and protect bushes or shrubbery if needed.

Do You Accept Credit Cards?

Yes. We have a payment option on our website that accepts debut or credit cards.

Do We Need To Be Home For The Painting Process?

Being home during the painting process is not required but is entirely acceptable if that is something you would like to do. The only time we would actually need someone home is when painting doors due to having to prop them open to paint. If the home owner is comfortable leaving their front door or side doors open then they would not need to be home at all during the painting process.

How long does a home normally take to paint?

This is entirely subjective but somewhere between 3-6 days, depending on project size.

What type of paint do you use and why?

We primarily use quality products from Sherwin Williams and Miller Paint (Denfeld). If there's another brand of paint you're interested in using, talk to us, we'd be happy to discuss other potential paint options.

If I Buy All Of My Own Paint, Will I Be Able To Save Money?

Our estimates include the cost of paint. Purchasing paint yourself will not save money and actually cost you money. The reason being we get better discounts being a business entity who buys paint in high volume and getting better discounts than an individual going to the store.

Are You A Licensed, Bonded, And Insured Painting Company?

Yes - CCB # 220169

What Is The Benefit Of Choosing West Rivers Painting Over Another Company?

Customer Service. Our success has been based on delivering high quality painting services with exceptional customer service for a competitive price. We stand behind our work and will work with you to make sure you are happy with the experience and the finished product.

Are We Going To Be Charged For Any Extra Expenses At The End Of The Job?

Absolutely not. We outline every detail in our quotes for what is included and excluded. The only reason there would ever be an extra charge at the end of the job would be if a home owner requested something extra to be performed.

Does The Estimate Outline All Of The Details Such As Type Of Paint And Prep Going To Be Performed?

Yes. Our estimates are highly detailed for a reason. We want you as the home owner to know exactly what paint products and materials are being used and the extent and type of prep work that will be performed on your home. After all, prep work is the most important part of the process and our estimates outline out step by step process.

Are There Areas Where We Can Take On Any Of The Work To Save Money?

As much as we pride ourselves in working with home owners to make sure we work within your schedule, budget, and requests, we have found over the years that trying to negotiate certain aspects of the job we aren't able to guarantee our work and have the work up to our standards which we have found almost always exceed that of the home owner. We want to perform the best work possible for the home owner and for that reason rarely negotiate on these terms.

If We Have Questions During The Painting Process Who Can We Contact?

The owner, Jordan Huff, oversees all jobs during the painting process. The lead painter present on every job site can also help answer and clarify questions along the way.

What Precautions Are Taken To Upkeep The Current Condition Of Plants And Walk Ways Around The House?

We understand that your home is most likely your most valuable asset, and for that reason when any of West Rivers employees are on site we treat the home like it is our own. We mask, plastic, or drop cloth any areas where paint could drip, mist, or splatter. We also blow off all driveways, walkways, and decks at the end of each day making sure your home feels as if no one is even there or working on your home.

Will There Be Any Left Over Paint At The End Of The Job?

Yes. A touch up kit that includes each color paint or product used is left for your convenience. Each is labeled with the color name or number, type of product, sheen, and where it is located on your home.

"Top Notch"

We received a written, detailed estimate for painting our two story house. The painter, Jordan Huff, completed the job in 4 days. He pointed out some dry rot, worked around trees and shrubbery without disturbing them, cleaned up before he left and left us the extra paint. The paint job is top notch. We were so lucky to find him!

"...On Time, Affordable"

Jordan went over and above to complete the job, on time, affordable, and went an extra step to complete tasks not on the list. Knew what he was working with and how to go about doing the work. Was very thorough, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Our money was well spent for the service we were provided. 5 stars well earned. Cannot thank you enough. Thanks again.

"We'd Definitely Us Him Again"

This is our fourth house and over the years we've had interior and exterior paint jobs. So we're pretty good at recognizing a good from a bad paint job. Jordan at West Rivers is definitely one of the best painters we've had the pleasure of working with. From pricing and responsiveness and punctuality to the quality of workmanship we'd definitely use him again.
